この製品は、アメリカンビンテージスポーツウェアをイメージソースに、オールドアメリカンスタイルのクラシックなボディパターンディテールを再現したスウェットシャツです。耐久性に優れたバインダーネックバンド、ネック下の両Vガゼット、袖と裾の長めのリブ、丸胴ボディ、フラットシーマなど、ヴィンテージスタイルのディテールを再現しつつも、現代的なシルエットを取り入れ、カジュアルのテイストをプラスした街着として洗練されたファッショナブルなデザインにアレンジされています。

サイズは日本サイズです。シルエットはタイトすぎずルーズすぎない適度な身幅の現代的なモダンフィットスタイルに再構築され、スタイリッシュにご着用いただけますようにデザインされています。

1枚でメインのスウェットシャツとして着ても、ジャケット等のインナーとしてレイヤードアイテムとしても重宝されるスウェットシャツです。

素材はコットン100%の裏起毛スウェット(トレーナー)生地(ノンウォッシュ仕上げ)です。しっかりとしたヘビーウェイトスウェット生地で、裏起毛なので保温性もあります。

新品の状態では糸本来の風合いが残った目の粗いスラブ感のある柔らかい生地です。洗濯で水を通し乾燥させることで目が詰まり、しっかりとしたコシとハリが生まれ、主に縦方向に若干の縮みが発生します(縮みは最小限です)。また、着用と洗濯を繰り返すことで、さらに生地が馴染みコットン特有の風合いと程よいオールド感とヴィンテージ感が生まれてきます。しっかりとした着心地と、しなやかな柔らかさを兼ね備えたスウェット生地です。

この製品は、「丸編み機」によって編まれたスウェットシャツです。丸編み機は、生地を筒状に編み上げる旧式編み機です。生産効率は低いのですが、低速でゆっくりと編み立られ、余分なテンションがかからずに、糸そのものの柔らかい風合いを生かすことができる希少な編み機です。低速で編まれた生地は、温もりのある味わい深い表情に加え、しっかりとした着心地としなやかな柔らかさを兼ね備えています。そして、丸編み機で編まれたスウェットシャツの最大の特徴が、ボディの脇部に縫い目がない、いわゆる「丸胴」に仕上がる仕様です。現在は量産を重視した高速の編み機が主流になり、丸編み機は時代遅れの技術とされつつあります。しかし、丸編み機で編まれたスウェットシャツには、量産重視の高速編み機では出せない独特の風合いと時代を超えうるタフネスが宿っています。あえて生産効率の低い丸編み機で編むことで、空気を含んで柔らかくも、コシのある強い丸胴生地に編み上がります。また、はぎ目のない服なので、洋服の縫い目が肌に当たらず着心地も良い利点もあります。

ネックリブ(襟周り)は着用を繰り返しても伸びにくい特徴を持つ、耐久性に優れたバインダーネック2本針仕様です。

フロントとバックの襟元には2層ガゼット(両Vガゼット/汗どめ)が差し込まれ、また、袖口と裾のリブはやや長めにされ、ビンテージ感が演出されています。

背中右裾に縫い付けられた飾りネームタグ(スペックラベル)と、縫製部分のアウトロックステッチが、デザインのアクセントにされています。

アームホールや袖の縫い目はフラットシーマで縫製されています。フラットシーマはステッチをかけたときに生地の裏側の縫い代部分の膨らみがなく、肌にあたった時のストレスも少ないフラット(平ら)な仕上がりで、着心地の良さが高まります。

重ね着をしてもゴワつかず、引っ掛かりをなくした“フラットシーマー”を再現した、ヴィンテージスタイルのスウェットシャツです。旧式の4本針ミシンを駆使し、ミッドセンチュリーのスポーティングウェアの秀逸性を今に伝える1着です。

This plain sweatshirt is made in Japan and produced by TOYS McCOY. TOYS McCOY is a Japanese clothing brand established in 1996 by Hiroshi Okamoto, based in Tokyo, Japan. The pattern construction of this solid color sweatshirt is modeled after classic-style loop-wheeling sweatshirts (sportswear style with military influences) with classic design, but this basic sweatshirt has been re-designed with the TOYS McCOY's brand own detailing, contemporary interpretation and modernize fit for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The beauty of this piece is the balance of classic construction and modern updates from TOYS McCOY. Made of a raw/unwashed 100% cotton heavyweight loopwheel knitting sweatshirt fabric with a soft brushed interior backing. And this TOYS McCOY's sweatshirt features a tubular loopwheeling construction with no side seams, long sleeves, rib-knit collar/cuffs/hem, cover stitch ribbed crew-neckband, double layer V-gusset stitching (V-Stitch, V-Insert) on the front and back neck, set-in-sleeve, 4-needle flatlock seam sewn body, classic style longer ribbed cuff/waistband. Fit : This product is Japan size (Asian size), which tends to run slightly smaller than US and EU standard size. As a guide, Tagged size Japan M/38 would fit better on a US/EU S-M/36-38. And this sweatshirt is cut to wear as a modern fit (Not too slim or Not too loose) with short in the body length for a more fashion-forward looks. Toys McCoy has made the fit of this sweatshirt a more modern cut for fashionable casual look compared with vintage examples. It is perfect to wear alone or as a base layer with a jacket(outerwear). Fabric : Made of 100% cotton raw/unwashed heavyweigt loopwheel knitting sweatshirt fabric with a soft brushed interior backing. This sweatshirt fabric knitted on loop-wheel looms has a dry feel, slubby and rugged texture for fashionable vintage feel and look. This sweatshirt deliver the perfect combination of durability and natural softness for comfort. This sweatshirt comes raw/unwashed. After washing, the knitting of the cotton fibers in sweatshirt tightens so it will make the fabric denser and therefore more heavyweight. As a result, the sweatshirt will slightly shrink vertically after wash. Horizontal shrinkage is minimal.

Body : Tubular construction (No side seam construction). Made on loop-wheeling machine which knit the fabric in a seamless continuous tube. The fabric is produced with minimal tension during knitting process and lack of seams means the garment will keep its shape through wear and washing. Loop wheeling looms are special machines that are able to knit a perfect tube, but they can only knit one set diameter (size) per loom, so a loom for each size is required. This is why one hardly ever sees perfect tube construction in modern day garments.

Collar : Ribbed crew bound neckband (cover stitch neckband with double stitching). It used for the neck to prevent overstretching. Double layer V-gusset stitching (V-stitch, V-insert, sweat catch) on the front and back neck for the fashionable vintage feel and look.

Pattern Type : Plain, solid color, basic, simple, blank.

Closure : Pull on closure. Pull-over.

Sleeve Style : Set-in sleeves.

Other details : Brand label (Spec Label) on near the back-right-side hem. The two-ply knit ribbed sleeve ends and waistband are comfortable and flexible. Vintage style longer ribbed cuff and waistband to to provide fit in the right places. 4-needle flat-locked seams for extra durability and comfort. 4-needle flat-lock seam construction keeps the seam strong and lie flat against the body for comfort. A triangle of rib fabric is inserted underneath the front and back crew neck collar. The technical name is the V-gusset stitching or V-Stitch or V-Insert.
